How to register for a Career Center event

Go into your Eagle Network account (see Quick Start sheet if you are not yet registered) on your home page you will see a bar across the top of your page. Scroll across the button for "career events" and a list of upcoming events will be available. Select the event you are interested in signing up for and you will see a description of the event and the word "Register" in blue. Click on the blue "Register" and the system will add you to the list.

The following is a list and description of various events available to you.

Career Fair* — All of our career fairs are university wide events designed to bring area employers to campus to meet our qualified candidates. Career fairs are held in the spring and fall and this is a great opportunity to meet all of the students who are about to graduate and put their degrees to work. This is also a chance to share with students the specifics of a career in your field.

Career Festival* — This event is held on the Greens with employers under a big tent and lots of fun all around. The Career Center Staff provide free cokes, sno-cones, cotton candy and popcorn to draw students into the event and for employers to talk to students about their opportunities for employment and great careers.

Etiquette Dinner* — Join guest consultant Diane Gottsman and eat dinner with seven students who attend as your guest. The students will learn how to have a professional presence during business meetings and meals. A full dinner will be served, and you will have an evening to get to know students that are getting the polish needed to step out into the world of work.

Networking Events — The Career Center coordinates general and industry specific networking nights frequently throughout the semester. Typically, these kinds of events are held from 4-6pm and attendance varies depending on the industry.

Panel Presentations/Workshops — Panel presentations and workshops are available to students on a weekly basis. Topics vary from resume writing, interviewing, soft skills, etc. Frequently, employers are asked to participate and provide perspective.

Industry Interview Days — Each semester we have a few interviews days reserved for industry specific areas. These are open interview schedules and employers do not pre-screen their interview candidates. Participating companies are assigned an interview room and will have 30 minute interviews scheduled throughout the day. The purpose of this event is to help students place internships or full time positions. Sign-ups are on a first-come, first-serve basis. A minimal cost may incur to provide meals for the recruiters.

Mock Interviews — Throughout the semester, the Career Center coordinates mock interviews in conjunction with classroom assignments. Employers are asked to assist by donating a few hours of time to provide students with practice interview experience.

Classroom Presentations — Faculty often include employers as classroom presenters at various times during the semester. If interested in speaking about a career-related topic to a specific academic major, please contact Alison Delicati to arrange a time to discuss.
