On-Campus Interview Process
STEP ONE
Employer contacts the Career Center to set up an interview date and reserve rooms for the number of schedules needed.
STEP TWO
Employer submits their job description/qualifications for posting.
STEP THREE
The Career Center creates and attaches the interview schedule to appropriate employer job posting.
STEP FOUR
Candidates should check the Eagle Network system on a weekly basis to view newly added schedules.
STEP FIVE
Candidates apply for positions through Eagle Network. A deadline for applying will be posted in the job description for each position posted.
Candidates should have up-to-date resumes and information in the Eagle Network system. Candidates can go to a resume and/or interview skills seminar offered by the Career Center.
STEP SIX
After the application deadline, employers go on-line to select candidates they wish to invite to sign up for interview times.
STEP SEVEN
Candidates selected by the employer receive an automated email inviting them to sign up for an interview time. Interview times will be posted in the Eagle Network system. Candidates should research the two main types of interviews: skill based and behavioral. Individual appointments may be scheduled to ask questions or conduct a "mock" interview with a career advisor.
Candidates should also complete the Employer Research Form and turn in at interview in the Career Center.
STEP EIGHT
Candidates should prepare questions to ask in their interview and research the employer and position before the interview. Candidates can view information on employers coming to campus online when they are available or in the Career Center Library Employer Credenza.
STEP NINE
Candidates should arrive 10-15 minutes before their interview time and come dressed professionally. Professional dress is a suit and tie for men; suit or dress with jacket for women. Candidates should maintain good eye contact and demonstrate confidence throughout the interview.
STEP TEN
Candidates should write down the name of the person who conducted their interview and send a thank-you card or email to the employer within 24 hours after the interview.
