Professional Networking Series by Briana McCarthy

You might find that you are finding yourself choosing a major because you believe it will lead to success or an impressive salary. In the Career Center, we feel that seeking a fulfilling life and achieving personal goals should be at the forefront when considering a career pathway. Therefore, we have combined our traditional Industry Dinners with our annually hosted Etiquette Dinner to create a Professional Networking Series. This Series is designed to provide an intentional learning environment while allowing you to develop your professional conversation skills with potential future employers specific to your degree and career pathway.

Our goal is for these professional connections to become a starting point and a means for students to feel confident in their major choice. Since so many students are unaware of the full potential of their degrees, learning how to have a professional conversation with a successful leader in your career field is sure to be an eye-opening experience. We hope that the lessons and advice given by these professionals will help you visualize an ideal career pathway for the remainder of your degree and endeavors after graduation. These professional connections will also educate you on how to achieve personal and professional goals by discussing various life experiences of seasoned professionals.

Up first, UNT Fall 2020 Professional Networking Series: Liberal Arts and Social Sciences is happening on Thursday, Sep 24, 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm.

A full schedule of Professional Networking events will available shortly in Handshake.
