Aaron Anderson (He, Him, His) – Internship Specialist (CLASS, HPS, COE)

My name is Aaron Anderson. I use he/him pronouns, and I graduated from UNT with a Master’s degree in English. I currently work as an Internship Specialist in the Career Center. My favorite place is the Big Bend area in Texas, and my favorite television show is the Mandalorian.

Describe a typical workday, tasks, and what you enjoy most about your job?

My typical workday involves answering students’ emails or conducting appointments to help students with their internship searches – or reviewing their application materials. I also support employers post their job or internship opportunities on Handshake. I assist various internal UNT departments with the management of internship data on Handshake. I am involved with some marketing for the internship team. I create Micro-Internship blogs for different colleges and video projects, which is probably one of the most enjoyable parts of my job. I enjoy helping students understand how their past volunteer or work experiences can apply to their professional job searches.

Describe the services you provide for UNT students.

I help students refine their internship searches, improve their resumes, and cover letters for internship applications, and help them figure out exactly what type of experiential opportunity is best for them.

Why do you believe students utilize the career center? What are the benefits?

The Career Center has a wealth of widely-varied professional experience. No matter which field a student is planning to enter. There is someone at the Career Center who can help provide guidance. Using the Career Center gives students a head start on establishing their careers.
