Meet Mohammed Yaseen. He graduated with his Master of Science degree in Computer Science in December 2020. He is currently working as a Technology Lead for Infosys.
We asked Mohammed some questions, advice for current students, and how UNT helped them to succeed and SOAR BEYOND!
When you started at UNT, what were your plans after graduation? How have these plans changed? I wanted to land into a challenging technology role. I believe I am on the right track.
What advice do you have for prospective or current students as they decide what they want their next steps to be? Keep your options open and be adaptive.
How did your program at UNT help you to feel prepared for your role/program/next steps? A degree from UNT gave me the confidence to showcase the right attitude to land a technical job.
How did you find your current role/program? Referral through a friend.
What was the most challenging interview question you have been asked? I was asked what I would do if the Client came to know there’s a huge bug in my code at the production level and how would I go about answering them if I had no team or reporting manager to discuss.
How, if applicable, did the Career Center help you? Career Center has been to go to the department for me when I needed some answers. They have been very approachable and communicative. Way to go CC!
Share anything else about your story/experience if you would like to that you haven’t already. I was calm during my job search, applied to many, and kept myself socially active. LinkedIn was the go-to website, Premium membership of it doesn’t hurt.
