We asked Kobi some questions, advice for current students, and how UNT helped them to succeed and SOAR BEYOND!

When you started at UNT, what were your plans after graduation? Once I started at UNT my plans after graduation were to become a sports agent. What changed along the way was my knowledge of the field and the job security that it gave. From there, I found Real Estate which would give me an avenue to earn passive income, even if I didn’t have clients at that moment in time. That security in my future job was a driving force in changing my major early on.

What advice do you have for prospective or current students as they decide what they want their next steps to be? Being confident is the biggest attribute you can have that’ll benefit you when applying for jobs, internships, or interviewing. Also, don’t be afraid if you feel like you might not know enough for a position. Experience is the best teacher, use your confidence to get your foot in the door, and don’t be afraid to take chances and fail. When I was a Sophomore and realized I wanted to go into real estate. I downloaded the Keller Williams app and an agent contacted me to see if I was interested in buying a house. Long story short, that agent introduced me to my boss now and I’ve worked for him for three years. He mentored me and made sure I knew what I was getting into and how to accomplish the goals I wanted. All this was possible because I took a chance and trying something new.

How did your program(s) at UNT help you to feel prepared for your role/program/next steps? The programs that have helped me prepare for the next steps in my career would be Kappa Alpha Psi, UNT Real Estate Club, and most of all Dr. John Baen’s Real Estate Investment class. His class was the one that made me open my eyes to all the different aspects of Real Estate and the many ways you can monetize your assets and yourself in the industry.

How did you find your current role? The way I found my current role was through the KW app. I originally downloaded the app to learn more about real estate and the DFW market. An agent reached out to me to see if he could help with anything. I told him I would like to intern at KW Denton and he introduced me to Chris Rosprim who is my boss now. After meeting Chris, I was able to understand the property management aspect of real estate and I began to work for his company while going to UNT and after I’ve graduated, which is about three to four years. Also, being in the KW office surrounded me with other Realtors which allowed me to network with others in the industry and grow my name.
