Welcome to the Students with Disabilities Community!
The internship and job search process can be overwhelming for any student. The UNT Career Center is committed to supporting students with both visible and non-visible disabilities throughout their career exploration and preparation process.
We can also help you navigate your job and internship search while offering support to find answers to your questions. Schedule an appointment to meet with your Career Coach or look at our additional resources for more information. Also, be sure to check Handshake for events partnered with the Office of Disability Access. You may also want to check out the NACE Individuals with Disabilities Affinity Impact Team group on LinkedIn.
The UNT Career Center encourages persons with disabilities to participate in our events and meet with our staff. If you anticipate needing an accommodation or have questions about accessibility, please call 940-565-2105 in advance of the event or your visit.

Job Opportunities and Resources
Students with disabilities are more than 40% less likely to have secured employment a year after graduation than their peers without disabilities. The Office of Disability Access (ODA) and the UNT Career Center are working together to help you beat these statistics and have launched several initiatives! For all the details visit: ODA JOBS Blog. For more information on ODA, please visit https://disability.unt.edu/.

Employment and Your Rights
There are many important things to consider when approaching the internship or job search and when applying to graduate programs. If you have questions about the laws that apply to you, these resources may help.
- Your rights when seeking employment
- What are my rights under the ADA?
- What is “reasonable accommodation“?
