As an R&D Optics Engineer Intern, you will have the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research and development projects that help shape the future of eye care. This internship is based at our Fort Worth, TX location.
In this role, a typical day will include:
- Carry out extensive research in vision science, optical design and optical metrology primarily in accommodative and refractive correction research areas.
- Design proprietary optics optimized for human vision and provide reliable optical metrology for performance inspection.
- Plan, conduct, and execute IOL (Intraocular Lens)-related research and development under general supervision.
Minimum Qualifications: Must be enrolled in an accredited university or college for at least one semester prior to the internship, and at least one additional semester following your internship
- Must be pursuing a Masters or Ph.D. degree in Vision Science, Optics, and Physics,
- Academic performance: Minimum cumulative GPA 2.8/4.0.
- Demonstrated leadership skills (i.e. extracurricular activities or projects).
- Must be authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis. Students on an F1 visa with CPT work authorization may be accommodated.
- Ability to commit to a 10-12 weeks summer internship, full time (40 hrs./week) project .
Preferred requirements:
- Experience with optical design, optical engineering, and optical software like Zemax or Code V.
