Primary Purpose:
The Director of Development and International Relations is an integral position for ILTexas to develop positive relationships for large donors, corporations, foundations, state, and federal grants. Additionally, will be point person to develop deeper cooperation with Chinese businesses, foundations and education departments at the district, municipal, provincial, and national level. Other areas of responsibility include oversight of all fundraising including annual fund, major and planned gifts, grants and annual events. This position provides an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual with proven development experience who can manage the transition to a more diversified development program. The Director of
Development and International Relations will work closely with the Superintendent, members of the Board of
Trustees, parent’s volunteers, donors, and the greater community. This position will be responsible for supervising volunteers working in the areas of fundraising, communications and events planning.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification
- Master of Business Administration or Master of International Relations required
- Fluent in Mandarin Chinese (oral and written) required
- Ability to interact as a senior executive of ILTexas with the ability to respectfully and adeptly communicate with competence, charm, poise, and engaging interactions to facilitate conversations with high-level prospects and donors in cross-cultural settings
- Expertise in navigating social, economic and cultural diversity in all forms, with different cultural values and norms; understanding of international issues that affect American and International relations and education
Experience:
- Government and/or business experience in building relationships
- 5+ years of successful development and fundraising experience in nonprofit organizations
- International work or extended study experience
