Full Job Description
Work as an Automation Engineer within the Region to support eight manufacturing plants across the US and Canada. The main objective is to perform duties related to trouble shooting, maintaining, conceptualizing, developing and implementing assembly and automation solutions. Responsible for leading projects involving automation opportunity identification, equipment design, build, assembly, design reviews, equipment acceptance, and installation.
Key Responsibilities – Essential Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following :
Participate in design review meetings.
Document results/minutes from supplier meetings using standard Pretuim Meeting Minutes template.
Analyze results ( F.A.T., I.Q., O.Q., P.Q.) by crafting tables, graphs, and charts as appropriate.
Assist in constructing technical reports which include a description of testing performed, procedures, data, observations, next steps, etc. Requires technical writing skills.
Trouble shoot and maintain (6 axis articulating) robots
Assist with developing and implementing preventative and predictive maintenance programs
Supports all company safety and quality programs and initiatives.
Other responsibilities may be assigned from time to time as needed.
Job Specifications: Organization Linkages:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical / engineering related field or 10 plus Maintenance/Engineering Manager years of experience. Automation Engineering Teams/Director
Ability to write work instructions VP Operations
Ability to use Microsoft Office for documentation, spreadsheets and graphing.
Required to have AutoCAD, PLC, PC based controls, and electrical/mechanical schematic interpretation and user skills.
Identify Pretium processes that would benefit from automation
Evaluation of manufacturing processes, designing and modifying manufacturing methods and identifying necessary equipment to support.
Directing and managing vendors and overseeing equipment installation projects
Coordinate between Engineering and Maintenance on existing machine control modifications to robotic, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and vision systems
Must understand basic pneumatics, hydraulics, and motion control devices.
Ability to read and write English and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Use of some judgment and the making of minor decisions in carrying out instructions following prescribed routines, methods and procedures.
Requires use of simple arithmetic (addition, multiplication, calculate averages), fixed and adjustable measuring instruments, simple use of charts, maintaining and understand records.
Travel required up to 50%.
