Are you an excellent communicator? Authentic? Strategic? Goal-oriented? With integrity as the cornerstone, Santé’s Communications Internship Program increases awareness of Santé’s services by identifying, establishing and enhancing relationships with prospective clients and their families, the media, professional referral partners, and the greater community to advance Santé’s mission of providing life-affirming, long-term recovery. All interns get to experience strategic planning, KPI measurements, and interaction with department colleagues and company leadership while doing meaningful work that impacts the business.
There are two unpaid positions: Social Media Internship and Public Relations Internship.
Participants will observe and practice within a specialized vertical within Santé’s Marketing department but will interact with all other Marketing colleagues specializing in: Social and Digital content, Public Relations, Advertising, Special Events, Graphic Design, Sales and Community Relations.
Internship program participants receive company training, outlined position fundamentals, a mid-semester evaluation (including self-evaluation) and a final evaluation to assess performance, goals and development needs. Class schedule permitting, they will participate in Weekly Marketing Team meetings and individual weekly meetings with the department’s Director, Hollie Higgins.

Schedule, Location and Dress Code
These are spring semester positions, with the possibility to extend through the summer. The Spring 2021 internship is scheduled to start on or around Tuesday, January 19, 2021. Interns are expected to work 2-3 days/week with flexibility, for no more than 20 hours per week. Due to COVID 19 precautions, these positions will likely be virtual (as is the entire Marketing Team) for a significant portion of the experience. When virtual, there is a virtual dress code. When on campus, dress is business casual. Santé Center for Healing-sponsored event attendance/representation would require professional attire.
Social Media Internship
Santé’s Marketing Department is looking for a highly-motivated, organized, enthusiastic and creative social media intern. The purpose of this internship is to work alongside Santé’s Media Coordinator to develop, schedule and maintain integrated marketing campaigns and programs across all Santé social and digital properties to align with the Santé brand. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: work with Business Development Director to develop social media strategies; assist the Media Coordinator in creation and development of content to distribute across all social media platforms; assist in scheduling and implementing a monthly/weekly/daily social media calendar; monitor and engage communication with those who engage across all social media platforms; maintain and update YouTube channel; contribute innovative marketing and branding ideas, including digital campaigns; measure engagement for reporting; assist in developing and updating social and website content, graphics, banners, gifs; assist the Media Coordinator in pulling social analytics.
· Required: At least two years within a Business, Mass Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Psychology or Counseling degree. Pass a background check and drug test. Excellent written communication skills with attention to detail. Basic computer skills including data entry skills and working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, social media, and email.
Preferred: Positive, successful experience working virtually. Self-driven individual who has attention to detail and time management skills. Adobe Illustrator experience. Knowledge and use of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, TikTok and other developing social media platforms. Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Knowledge of the mental health field and addiction related issues. Video, photography and content creation experience are a PLUS!
Public Relations Internship
Santé Center for Healing’s Marketing Department is looking for a self-motivated, organized, positive energy and persistent public relations intern. The purpose of this internship is to work alongside Santé’s Special Programs Coordinator to increase earned media and corporate citizenship identity through nurturing media relationships, improving local media lists, creating/distributing weekly press releases and improving corporate citizenship identity on digital assets. Candidate should be a creative thinker, confident enough to pitch innovative story ideas for print, broadcast and digital media and enjoy copywriting. This position will also assist the development, 2021 implementation and evaluation of a 12-month campaign celebrating Santé’s 25th Anniversary.
Required: Students must be currently enrolled at an accredited university or college with at least two years within a Business, Mass Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Psychology or Counseling degree. Pass a background check and drug test. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong storytelling/copywriting/copyediting skills. Basic computer skills including data entry skills and working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, social media, and email.

Knowledge of the mental health field and addiction related issues. Experience with Constant Contact platform for creating campaigns and engagement assessments/reports.
