The Division of Research & Innovation at the University of North Texas Health Science Center is seeking to hire a Research Associate for its Genomics Core Laboratory.
Specific responsibilities to include: * Assist in the conduct of research, including the collection of information and samples. * Analyze experimental data and interpret results to write reports and summaries of findings. * Keep accurate detailed logs of all work-related activities. * Use computers, computer-interfaced equipment, or high-technology industrial applications to perform work duties. * Clean, maintain, and prepare essential supplies and work areas.* Set up, adjust, calibrate, clean, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory and field equipment. * Prepare samples and solutions as needed for NGS workflow.
Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications: * Master’s degree from four-year college or university and one (1) year of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Hands-on experience with molecular biology techniques, including the processing of genomic NGS assays (such as RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq, etc.). Familiarity with single-cell sequencing protocols would be a plus. Experience using qPCR, Qubit, Agilent Bioanalyzer, and Illumina NGS platform or similar. Ability to learn new techniques, protocols, and software effectively. Ability to multitask and be adaptive based on workload and customer needs while maintaining accurate and reliable records. Knowledge of genomic workflow automation would be a plus. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships proactively. Knowledge of safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed.
