About this Job
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering is looking to hire a number of undergraduate CSE students for up to 10 hours/week who have taken undergraduate CSE courses at UNT to be Peer Mentors for the Fall 2024 semester. A Peer Mentor is an undergraduate student who helps other undergraduate students with their disciplinary courses during the semester.
THIS POSITION IS AVAILABLE TO UNDERGRADUATE CSE STUDENTS ONLY AND IS NOT A TEACHING POSITION – THIS IS NOT A TA/RA/IA POSITION.
We are currently looking for Peer Mentors in the following courses (subject to change): CSCE 1010, CSCE 1030, CSCE 1040, CSCE 2100, CSCE 2110, CSCE 2610, CSCE 3530, CSCE 3730, CSCE 3600.
If you are an UNDERGRADUATE CSE STUDENT, who has completed the above courses successfully, and are interested in being a Peer Mentor for these or other CSE courses, please apply.
Duties would depend on the class(es) for which you are assigned to, but might include:
* Setting up scheduled time to work with a student one-on-one;
* Assisting in a formal lab by helping students with their questions regarding the lab assignment;
* Holding office hours to help students with specific courses; and
* Other duties as specified by the instructor or the course coordinator for the course to which you have been assigned.
