This position will work closely with the Union Arts Coordinator to assist with Union Arts Center programming and the Union Art Gallery. The Union Arts Center offers robust and consistent arts programming in the UNT University Union. The Union Art Gallery showcases the creative endeavors and artistic output of the UNT student body. Shifts will be scheduled during the long semesters Monday-Thursday between 8am-9pm and Friday 8am-5pm, with the possibility of some weekend events.

 

Qualifications:

  • Must be a currently enrolled University of North Texas student
  • Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher for each semester
  • Must be in good academic and judicial standing
  • Must be able to work 15-25 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters

Major responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for the daily operations of Union Arts initiatives, including but not limited to the Union Arts Center and the Union Art Gallery
  • Ideate, plan, and implement art-related workshops in the Union Arts Center
  • Assist students and/or guests who visit the Union Arts Center with designated art activities
  • Respond to inquiries in the Union Arts email in a timely manner
  • Implement marketing and social media initiatives for Union Arts
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of the Union Arts Center and Union Art Gallery
  • Perform opening and closing procedures for the Union Arts Center
  • Monitor guests in the Union Arts Center to ensure equipment is being used in an appropriate manner to prevent accidents/damage to equipment
  • Sand, spackle, and paint the gallery walls during gallery flips
  • Ideate themes and curate one group show per semester
  • Maintain and organize tools and equipment in Gallery Storage
  • Organize and catalog the Union Art Collection
  • Attend all team meetings/trainings
  • Maintain communication with the Union Arts Coordinator and fellow staff members
  • Perform other event management duties related to the Union Arts Center and the Union Gallery
  • Assist with Fine Arts Series, UPC, and Union-wide events as needed

Starting pay rate: $9.75

*Anticipated start date is January 5, 2026

 

Special Qualifications: Must be detail oriented, responsible, and dependable. Must be flexible in scheduling. Major in Art/Art History is preferred. Familiarity with various artforms and procedures/tools related to gallery maintenance is a plus.
