About the Job:
High School Career Connect is seeking a talented and motivated Student Assistant to manage and streamline the program’s data collection, analysis, and dissemination practices. High School Career Connect (HSCC) is a career development and education service for middle school, high school and college students throughout Denton County. The HSCC program has been established in response to Texas House Bill 5, which requires children to choose their career paths in eighth grade in order to identify which endorsements (academic tracks) they should follow in high school. HSCC’s mission is to increase access to relevant career resources and expand Denton County schools’ capacity to deliver them.
Job Requirements:
This position is best suited for a masters/doctoral level student with skills and interest in data collection, analysis, and dissemination but will consider students in junior or senior year of bachelor’s program.
This position requires oral communication, excellent writing, and computer skills. The candidate must have the ability to work with a diverse group of faculty, staff, students, and community members. The candidate must have the ability to work autonomously with limited supervision and the ability to work successfully within a team is required.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills required.
Prior use with a CRM.
Job Duties:
1.) Administer and maintain data dashboard for analysis and dissemination of program outcomes for grant reporting purposes as well as student progress reports as a result of the High School Career Connect program.
A data dashboard is an information management tool that visually tracks, analyzes and displays key performance indicators (KPI) aka metrics and key data points to monitor the health and impact of High School Career Connect. The metrics tracked by the tool will be set by Greater Texas Foundation and Pioneer Foundation (grant funders), UNT Career and Leadership executive director, and HSCC leadership. (High school endorsements, career options, career confidence, post high school plans. Etc.)
2.) Assist in the process and execution of ongoing data collection of student learning, touchpoints, and partnerships as it relates to department KPIs. Data collection and maintenance process includes:
a. Daily data input and organization of HSCC Mentoring Tracking Forms and student information sheets. Ensuring any changes made to prior input data will also be made on a daily basis.
b. Creating and maintaining peer mentoring tasks based on Tracking Form progress.
3.) Assist in writing daily, weekly, or monthly reports for partnering school staff.
4.) Assist in writing quarterly reports for the grants.
5.) Collaboration on papers for publication with team members.
6.) Assistance in pursuing speaking opportunities (symposiums, conferences, RFPs…etc.) in support of HSCC endeavors.
7.) Periodic assistance in HSCC events, programs, and presentations as needed.
