GENERAL INTERNSHIP REQUIREMENTS FOR RYAN COLLEGE OF BUSINESS
Accounting
- Academic Requirements:
- 3.0 Grade point average in accounting courses, beyond ACCT 2020, taken at UNT
- 3.0 Grade point average for all UNT coursework
- Minimum of 18 hours (BS/BBA) or 21 hours (BS/MS) of accounting (including ACCT 2020 and 2010), at the start of the internship
- Completion of at least 9 hours of accounting at UNT
- Senior academic standing (at least 90 credit hours completed) at the start of the internship
- Minimum of one full semester (or two summer sessions) of academic coursework remaining at the conclusion of the internship (12 credit hours for BS/BBA degree program and 9 credit hours for MS degree program) of which 3 credit hours must be an upper level accounting course
- Internships must be full-time and contain a major accounting component requiring supervised professional judgment
- Minimum of 320 hours in total must be worked
- Cannot work at other jobs or take college course(s) during the internship except for compressed courses – ACCT 5120 and ACCT 5200
- Acceptance into graduate school prior to enrollment is required to obtain credit for ACCT 5800
- Students must attend an internship orientation prior to enrollment
