Stan Hughes is a career coach in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences. He is an Army veteran who served in Desert Storm in 1990 and was injured during combat. Although his military career was cut short due to these injuries, he maintained a strong passion for serving veterans through continued volunteer work and program development.

Throughout his service to the veteran community, Stan has supported initiatives addressing homelessness, HIV counseling, financial management resources, and the creation of outreach programs designed to meet veterans’ daily needs. Recognizing that education could further expand his impact, he pursued higher education and earned his undergraduate degree in social work from the University of Illinois in 2012. He later completed a master’s degree in organizational behavior in 2015 and an MBA in 2017 from Benedictine University.
