The Facilities Planning and Design department is seeking a positive, courteous, and prompt individual with a professional attitude who is looking for a long-term position and real-world experience in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred candidates will be willing to commit to working through the summer and throughout the school year and are currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science or Engineering in Construction or Construction Management.
This position will involve a combination of office and construction site work.
Candidates with the following skills are preferred:
- AutoCAD / REVIT experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to understand floor plans and perform field measurements.
- Microsoft Office (required), especially with Word and Excel, Outlook and Adobe
- Currently studying construction practices at UNT
JOB DUTIES:
- Position requires the ability to use a computer in the office and iPad in the field using Microsoft Office, Outlook and Adobe applications.
- Assists Construction Inspectors with direct and written communication to clients, vendors, and contractors.
- Assisting with the review of construction documents, drawings and taking minutes/notes of meetings.
- Assist in photo documentation of the projects.
- Performs assigned duties accurately, thoroughly, and within the prescribed time limits.
- Walk through job sites safely and in an efficient manner.
- Review of job performance and service time for a pay increase throughout the year is a possibility.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to lift at least 25lbs, climb stairs, and walk long distances across the UNT main campus.
Work Schedule:
- Up to 25 hours per week during the semester
- Opportunity to work up to 40 hours per week during winter and summer breaks
- Work schedules will be discussed and approved during interviews
