HOW TO FIND AN ON-CAMPUS JOB
- Go to Handshake and log in with your MyUNT information. If you haven’t logged on before, please register an account with your UNT student email.
- Fill out your profile.
- Upload your documents such as your Resumes, Cover Letters, Student Employment Application, and others to Handshake. (Student Employment Application Form – The application should be completed on a computer; it does not work well on a phone or tablet.)

I-9 PROCESSING
I-9s are processed in-person Monday-Friday by Drop-Ins only from 11am to 4pm. To start the I-9 process, you must have an offer letter from your department, complete the onboarding and your section 1 of the I-9, and have original copies of all required verification documents.
TYPES OF STUDENT EMPLOYMENT
Hourly Student Employment
- All UNT students are eligible for Hourly Student Employment jobs.
- 100% of your paycheck comes from your hiring department.
- Students are allowed to work up to 25 hours a week, International students can work up to 20 hours a week.
- Minimum pay is $9.25, but positions may start at a higher rate.
Work Study Positions
- Open to UNT students who have received and accepted Federal Work Study in their University of North Texas Financial Aid Package. If you have not received a Work Study offer in your Financial Aid package, but you believe you may qualify for work study, please contact the Student Financial Aid and Scholarships Office (940-565-2302).
- 30% of your paycheck comes from the hiring department, and 70% comes from the federal government.
- Students are allowed to work up to 25 hours a week.
- Minimum pay is $9.25, but positions may start at a higher rate.
Eagle Internships
- Open to all UNT students.
- Paid on-campus internship in a department related to your major (eligible for Work Study).
- Minimum of 10 weeks.
- Typically one semester, but the potential to extend into an additional semester.
- Only 30 positions on campus.
- Receive 30 hours of Professional and Personal Growth Programming.
- Students may also use this program for academic credit (subject to requirements of major/college).
